About Me

I am a business architect, systems strategist, and leader with over 20 years of experience building organizations that thrive. Specializing in creating businesses that run on autopilot, I have mastered the art of aligning people, processes, and technology to achieve lasting success.

I am very excited about my forthcoming "Disconnected".

Disconnected

The Monk of East Hampton is a transformative exploration of leadership, entrepreneurship, and the inner journey of building a meaningful life in the now. Written by Daniel Powers Jr., this book blends personal anecdotes with timeless wisdom from Ron, his mentor, to offer a roadmap for navigating the challenges of business, family, and personal growth for abundance and a business that works.

  • Founder & CEO of Real Brave

I founded Real Brave to empower individuals of all ages to discover their inner rock star. With a mission to inspire confident self-expression through performance, Real Brave has grown from a single location into a renowned music education brand. Through innovative teaching methods and community-building strategies, Real Brave develops performers and transforms lives. With hundreds of employees, contractors and an army of other help throughout the years, Real Brave has done everything from sell physical inventory to service (online and in-person)

  • Creator of PracticePad SaaS

At the forefront of education technology, Dan developed and successfully launched PracticePad, a groundbreaking SaaS platform with thousands of active users. PracticePad combines live video conferencing, custom lesson modules, progress tracking, and scheduling tools into an all-in-one solution. This revolutionary platform has redefined music education, enabling students and teachers to connect and grow seamlessly.

  • Architect of Autopilot Business Systems

Dan’s greatest strength lies in helping businesses run without constant oversight. By implementing systems and processes that operate autonomously (The 7 Pillars), Dan empowers entrepreneurs to scale their businesses while regaining their time and focus. His frameworks have been applied across various industries, enabling leaders to transition from daily operators to strategic visionaries.

  • Builder of Scalable Strategies

With a proven track record of designing and managing brick-and-mortar locations, Dan knows how to create spaces and systems that thrive. From facility design to operations management, he ensures every aspect of a business contributes to its growth and sustainability.

  • Leader of Modern Workforce Management

Over two decades, Dan has hired and managed thousands of employees, navigating the complexities of legal compliance and understanding the psychological needs of today’s workforce. His leadership style fosters engagement and loyalty in 21st-century environments spanning Gen X to Gen Z+. Thinking of renaming myself the Gen Z whisperer.

  • Nonprofit Innovator

As the founder of After School Rocks (a 501c3 nonprofit), Dan provided vital after-school programs for underserved children in the Bronx and Queens, NY. Partnering with organizations like Services for the Underserved (S:US), After School Rocks has positively impacted thousands of young lives.

About Disconnected

Disconnected is a story about why smart founders with good teams, solid systems, and modern tools still feel stuck, exhausted, and central to everything. The business works, but only as long as the founder keeps acting as the bridge between people, decisions, and execution.

Through a narrative built around mentorship, breakdown, and rebuilding, the book reveals the hidden space where work actually fails. Not at the level of effort or intent, but in the gaps between steps. Where decisions stall. Where systems quietly hand problems back to the owner. Where tools were never designed to carry judgment without human intervention.

Rather than offering tactics or templates, the book introduces a new way of seeing. By mapping how work flows, how decisions move, and how tools either support or fight that flow, founders learn why scaling feels harder than starting. The result is not hustle or control, but clarity. A business designed to stand on its own, not because the founder disappeared, but because the architecture finally holds.

Why Read It?

  • You feel like your business depends on you more now than when it was smaller

  • You’ve invested in systems, software, and coaching, but the same problems keep resurfacing

  • Work gets “done,” yet execution feels fragile and hard to scale

  • Decisions bottleneck at you, even with capable people in place

  • You want to understand where breakdowns actually happen, not just react to them

  • You’re considering building, buying, or customizing software and want clarity before writing code

  • You need to know what your tools should do before choosing or building them

  • You want to avoid building software that automates the wrong process

  • You’re ready to design a business that can run without constant judgment calls

  • You want a clear mental model for turning real work into systems that actually hold
